Breast tail reduction is performed on patients who have excess skin and fat on the outer aspect of their breasts and extending toward the back. The incision is along the lower aspect of the excess skin in a horizontal fashion. The procedure can be performed under local, twilight or general anesthesia and is one to two hours in length. The stitches dissolve by themselves. The patient usually wears bandages and a sport bra for several weeks. Recovery is usually one week. Post-operative pain is between three to four.
